Art Education Department adopts Structural and Formal Communication of Artistic and Aesthetic Knowledge with the various mechanisms Arts, especially those related to Cultivation of Artistic Taste, Literature, Criticism, and Aesthetic Values within an Artistic Vision embodied in the Art of Drawing and its Techniques. Besides, the Prescribed Curricula has been strengthened with Artistic Performance through the production of Artistic Works, as well as organizing Exhibitions, and participating in Artistic and Cultural Festivals, Seminars, and Training Courses within the relevant Artistic specializations, using Artistic Techniques, Educated Cadres, and Teachers qualified with Degrees and Practical Experiences. Accordingly, Art Education Department shall be a source for supplying all types of Institutions, Public and Private with Technical Cadres Specialized in the Field of Art Education, in accordance with the Specifications of Comprehensive Quality Management and Academic Accreditation, and in light of the Standards considered by the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research.
In its Vision, Art Education Department aspires to achieve its prescribed goals in accordance with the Specifications of Comprehensive Quality Management and Academic Accreditation a well as with the Artistic Knowledge adopted at Public Educational and Pedagogical Institutions. As a matter of fact, Art Education Department focuses on investing and disseminating Visual Culture and other Artistic Practices under the Slogan, which confirms that "Arts in service of education at Local, Regional and Global Levels", with the aim of developing students’ Artistic Taste and Sense, in addition to other Values, and thus spreading the spirit of Cooperation through Aesthetic Work. Moreover, Art Education Department seeks to present Academic Materials through interesting possible techniques that would lead to the acquisition of Modern Scientific & Media Skills with which Excellence and Creativity shall be achieved.

Art Education Department Objectives can be summarized as follows:
1. Creating a base for Cultural Heritage in Babylon Governorate whether through Museums or specific corners at schools.
2. Teaching and Training Teachers at New Performance Methods and Techniques related to their Specializations.
3. Development of Students’ Innovative Thinking, and thus having the opportunity to discovering their Talents
4. Promotion of Aesthetic Vision and Taste in a way that would be somehow benefiting to Societal Environment
5. Development of Educational, Technical and Cultural Levels within the Department
6. Organizing Workshops and Training Courses that aim to serving Schools as well as the Community
7. Actively participating in Art Exhibitions and Competitions whether locally or internationally
8. Cultural and Artistic Exchange between Private and Public Universities based on the principle of Joint Scientific Benefit.
9. Permanent Development of Modern Teaching Methods, while being applied to deliver various Academic Subjects to Students
10. Provision of Audio-Visual Aids and other Technologies that would be of much help to Students in the Comprehension Process of their Subjects
11. Department Academics are committed to adopt Research, Aesthetic, and Artistic Approaches, and this could be implemented through Training, Full-Time Work, Scientific Delegations, in addition to having access to Corresponding Departments at other Colleges whether inside or outside the Country
12. Making use of any experiments that are compatible with the Artistic, Cultural and Behavioral Environment of our Society, especially when hiring Academics coming from International Universities
13. Adopting any other activities related in one or another to Artistic, Scientific and Aesthetic Issues, such as sports, Literary Activities and Visits, in addition to activating Field Research as well as Debate Dialogues
